PASSIONATE PURSUIT...IN ALL THINGS...TRUST

II Corinthians 6:4-10

But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God in much patience, afflictions, in necessities, in distresses.

As a pastor, I have found that it is very easy to be pulled in different directions with a desire to help and assist others come into the unity of the Holy Spirit. When you have a heart after the living God and desire to pour His Spirit and his love in every way you can, you want to do so while redeeming the time. Having embraces my call so late in life compared to others who have often shared their testimonies of having received the Holy Spirit at a young age; I received the Holy Spirit later at the age of twenty-five.

Approved as his minister, I was placed in numerous situations where I had to trust in Jesus Christ completely. I don’t have many stories of church lock-ins or sleep overs. I can’t say that I have many positive role models. Yet, I was appointed as a minister of helps in the end times when we were and still are seemingly outnumbered by unbelievers. True holiness, true worship is not popular in the last days. However, there is much persecution and I have experienced that others who were called to humble beginnings such as myself are no longer there preaching the gospel. They have gone by the way-side. They preach watered-down versions or they have heaped to themselves their own teachers to do what is the popular, and the true saints are on the outside and are looked upon as outcasts of Zion. The actions of the people ask the question, “What’s wrong with you? Why are you so troubled?” They do what they are big and bad enough to do having the advantage among men, but the true saints are not there.

Ther phrase of the scripture that penetrates the most is “in all things”. Called as a God Chaser to seek after the Spirit of God like never before, I have learned to truth in Him. I have learned what it means to wait patiently on the Lord and be of good courage. The race is not given to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but those who endure to the end shall be saved.
The Lord Jesus has reminded me of one of my first encounters by the revelation of His Spirit was through a Holy Prophet. I had been praying and crying out to the Lord because of my circumstance and I had no one that I could go to or trust. Everything in my life had seemingly gone wrong. Yet, the Lord used a prophet to answer my prayer and give me a word of instruction.

Now the Lord Jesus is stating that even if there is no one around you who is seeking the righteousness of God, I am your righteousness, saith the Lord. He is the first and the last, the beginning and the end. He is the originator of all power and promises. He is not a man that He should lie or the son of man that He should repent.

When the Lord just starts us out in the path of righteousness it seems like there is always a need to show folks that He really is with you, he really did call you, he really did heal through you…and when they have worked iniquity and spoke all manner of evil against you…you have this thought that I’ll show you and then He’ll show you…Then you know Him and believe that He who began a good work in you with perform it until the day of the Lord Jesus Christ. We fear the Lord as the great I am. The thought shifts from I’ll show them, to wait on the Lord. He alone will give the increase. He will render just judgment in due season. The Lord stated in the book of Jude that Enoch prophesied that the Lord will come with a thousand of His saints to convince all that are ungodly of their ungodly deeds. Paul said remember that here shall be mockers in the last time that do not have His Holy Spirit. He said, Keep yourselves in the love of Christ building ourselves on our most holy faith. Therefore, regardless of the affliction or the distresses that come from the end time world system, we must endure with much patience and be fully persuaded that He is able to keep that which has been committed unto Him against that day…this is how we show ourselves approved…by believing and applying this word, not just being hearers but doers also. He said…
-In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in watchings, in fastings;
-By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned.
“In all things” having received the grace of God, we endure the stripes for the Lord Jesus’ name sake. The adversary sends his tares/paratroopers to beat you, wound you, and kick you while you’re down, but we endure hardness as good soldiers until the day of redemption.
