PASSIONATE PURSUIT...NOT CONSUMED BY MY CIRCUMSTANCE

​EXODUS 3:1-7
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro, his Father-in-law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the backside to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush and he looked and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned,
And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here I am.
And he said, draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
Moses is standing in the position of an under shepperd. He has been keeping the flock of his father-in-law who is a priest. Moses who had been given up to be raised in the house of Pharoah, having taken justice into his own hands at one point, has fled in the wilderness and submitted himself under the priest of Midian. He begins leafing the flock to the backside of the desert, out of sight. There he led them to a place where they weren’t customed to going. It ws uncharted territory. This place is hidden, it is isolated. The meaning of the name Horeb is defined as a waste. Yet, the Lord calls this place the mountain of God. We can find ourselves “down in the dumps”. We can go day to day doing a job and work and wind up in a dirty, waste place. You are called, you are chosen, you are gifted, you are operating in the midst of the priesthood and come to a desert place. Yet, spiritually it is the residence and high place established unto God. Moses got to this appointed place. And there he was met by the angel of the Lord. The angel didn’t appear as a man, but he appeared as a flame of fire, yet instead of running for cover; He begins to  look with wonder how is this bush burning. But it is not consumed…we’ve got to see how Jesus have from us from wasted places to the place of his throne. Consider, look and turn your heart toward Jesus. Consider how we are not consumed by our present circumstance. It’s not because of anything we’ve done but because o f his grace and mercy that we are not consumed. Consider how he brings us to a mountain of his beauty and majesty and splendor. When the Lord saw Moses had turned to see what the spirit was willing to do on our behalf …the first thing we want to do when we see miracles, signs, and wonders is draw a little closer…I must behold this thing…When we behold the beauty of the Lord and begin to inquire in his temple…we want more. The Lord begins to call Moses, twice for spiritual and natural and Moses answered him. The Lord said, draw not near yet. Take off your shoes form your feet to signify the authority. Come out of your own authority and submit yourself unto my holiness. I’m placing you in holiness. The Lord God then introduces himself  and said that he had come down from his throne because of the cries of his afflicted people. He wanted to partner with Moses in the spirit of deliverance…
