GET TO THE RIVER

​EZEKIEL 1-5 GET TO THE RIVER
Th Lord uses the prophet Ezekiel mightily and confidently while sending him among the children of Israel. While the Lord used Jeremiah to prophesy in his youth to the children the warning of captivity, the children refused to take heed the warning of the Most High. They are carried into captivity.
The Lord God reveals Himself by His Spirit to Ezekiel by the river while, he too, was in the midst of the captives. Though those children have gone into captivity because of sin and abomination, he uses Ezekiel to continue to prophesy of the judgment of the children while also providing a way of escape through the savior and by trusting and depending on the Lord with their whole heart through repentance and with obedience.
While commissioning Ezekiel for a mission in Him, the Lord reveals His Spirit to the prophet how those having his spirit would move by His spirit and hear His voice. He showed this demonstration with the living creature. Then the Lord commanded Ezekiel to go to the rebellious house. They were already in captivity, but their heart still was hardened toward the Lord. God commanded the prophet to eat the scroll. He obeyed the spirit of God which commanded him to “eat what I give thee.” The Lord took Ezekiel in the heat of His Spirit, and he went again to the river and sat among the captives and was astonished at what he saw for seven days. It’s interesting how you can be at the river and not at the river at the same time.
There’s a saying “you can take them to the water, but you can’t make them drink.” However, He went where the Spirit led him and the Lord ordained him a watchman of the house. Then the Lord prophesied to that house that had already been taken captive. He told Ezekiel that house would be under siege and He would use Ezekiel to do it. The Lord proclaims judgment to house of Israel of the sword, famine, and pestilence. However, he assures that there will be a remnant. The remnant shall escape by His Spirit.
Ezekiel 7:25-27
Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour. Then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel form the ancients.
The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hand of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
To those who still need to be sought, I say get to the river while you yet have a chance. Though you see a awfully rebellious house in judgment around you, you can escape the wrath of God by seeking His Holy Spirit to complete you and lead you.
