​HANGING ON BY A THREAD
JOSHUA 2:18
BEHOLD, WHEN WE COME INTO THE LAND, THOU SHALT BIND THIS LINE OF SCARLET THREAD IN THE WINDOW WHICH THOU DIDST LET US DOWN BY AND THOU SHALT BRING THY FATHER AND THY MOTHER AND THY BRETHREN AND ALL THY FATHER’S HOUSHOLD HOME UNTO THEE.
The Lord desired to give his children a land of promise. He spies into the land to confirm what the Lord has spoken, and the land was a good land. To obtain such a promise wasn’t going to be easy. It required a fight, and it required the children to be in unity.
We are living in the last days. The spiritual warfare has ben more fierce than ever. There are distresses, perplexities, and troubles on every side. The word says that the righteous will scarcely make it.
Rahab was a sinner who had been given the revelation of the Lord. She feared the Lord and desired salvation of the Lord. The spies promised if she put the thread in her window that when they came to sieze the city she would be saved. Sometimes when you’re going through warfare and you’re face with trials by fire, the only thing you have to hold onto is that thread of promise.
That thread meant that the Lord and his soldiers were coming. That thread meant that she and her family would be covered in the time of trouble. That thread meant obedience to fulfill the will of the true and living God. Sometimes we must remember when we’re going through that all we have is the promise of God’s word. If we obey His instructions and do His will and purpose…seek ye first the kingdom of God and all of His righteousness and all else will be added. Hang onto that thread and see God’s promise through to the end. He is our refuge and a present help in the time of trouble. Wait I say on the Lord.
