​SPIRITUAL WARFARE WHISPER…MAKING MERCHANDISE OF YOU

II PETER 2:1-3

BUT THERE WERE FALSE PROPHETS ALSO AMONG THE PEOPLE, EVEN AS THERE SHALL  BE FALSE TEACHERS AMONG YOU, WHO PRIVILY SHALL BRING IN DAMNABLE HERESIES, EVEN DENYING THE LORD THAT BOUGHT THEM, AND BRING UP THEMSELVES SWIFT DESTRUCTION.
AND MANY SHALL FOLLOW THEIR PERNICIOUS WAYS; BY REASONS OF WHOM THE WAY OF TRUTH SHALL BE EVIL SPOKEN OF.
AND THROUGH COVETOUSNESS SHALL THEY WITH FEIGNED WORDS MAKE MERCHANDISE OF YOU: WHOSE JUDGMENT NOW OF A LONG TIME LINGERETH NOT, AND THEIR DAMNATION SLUMBERETH NOT.

Through covetous practices many of the Lord’s chosen were slaughtered and continue to be slaughtered is what the Holy Prophets have spoken. The attempts from the adversary are to get the Lord’s chosen and anointed ones to forsake the holy covenant and lose their inheritance with God. The Bible states that perilous times will come and many will fall by way of seducing spirits and give heed to doctrines of devils. Oftentimes we read these scriptures and put them to the side as if they don’t apply to us. However, be reminded to take care those who think they stand lest they fall. The righteous will scarcely make it and if we take note of the scripture it says that these people are among us as brethren and what they do, they do in private bringing in damnation and swift destruction. Remember the Lord warned to be not deceived. We cannot look on the outer appearance. These people are loved ones…people who started in ministry with us. The enemy doesn’t come through the front or side door but attempts to get to us through those we love and what we love. Sometimes desires can become covetous because they are inappropriate or because the way we attempt to acquire something is wrong. For example, it is acceptable to want a vehicle or reliable transportation but if you want a vehicle that is beyond your means merely to “one-up” another of the brethren then the intent is improper. The enemy plays on these desires that many of us have and with falsehood and deceit will attempt to make merchandise of you.
What does it mean to make merchandise? Think of it as a child would because no one can enter the kingdom except he or she come as a child. Something that wasn’t for sale has been placed for sale and put on display. The Lord Jesus Christ has come and he descended into the lower parts then rose with all power to sit on the right hand of God. He led captivity captive and gave gifts unto all men. Do not allow the adversary to come into the midst of your situations and circumstances, make merchandise of you in an attempt to kick you while you are down…while you’re attempting to do the Lord’s will and purpose and seek Him for instruction. Don’t allow the adversary to tell you that you don’t need to wait for an answer from the Lord. David was chosen and anointed as King, but even he still had to answer to someone and he chose to make the Lord his refuge. He always inquired of the Lord regardless of the circumstance. The Lord has angels that he has given charge over us but sometimes the Lord wants us to activate our most Holy faith. Pray. Praise. Wait on an answer. Do not take down or give in to intimidation/fear. Know the Lord your God is a present help in times of trouble. There is power in waiting. Your healing gift does not have to be put on display. You prophetic gifting doesn’t have to be put on display. None of your gifts/talents have to be put on display while the adversaries attempt to mock and weary the tru saints even those who have a true hearts desire to do the Lord’s  will without waver and compromise. Pick up your weapons and fight even until the very end.
